Care
You might think to yourself: "No hair, no care!"
That is not exactly true. Of course there is no care whatsoever about the hair, but there are some things you have to consider when choosing this breed for your pet.
First of all- they can get cold! At winter, you must take extra care to prevent draughts and winds at home. Make sure your cat has a warm place to sleep at.
Also keep in mind that without a protection of fur sphinx is more likely to get cut than other cats. He also may get sun burns, so do not forget to control the time your cat spends sun bathing.
You may also consider using sunscreen.
And of course your cat must be dewormed once in 6 months and vaccinated once a year.
You will need to wash your cat. They sweat and since they have no hair it stays on the skin. Some sweat more then the others. Anyway, once a fortnight bath is advised. Use only a high quality cat shampoo.
Ears- cleaning with a special cat cleanser once a week is necessary for the lack of hair prevents ears from self cleaning.
Nails- Never ever declaw your pet. It is cruelty.
But clipping them once a week might be useful.
At any sign of illness... to the vet. And fast.
Feeding- only the highest quality food.
Water- boiled is preferred.
What else... You MUST pet your cat. As much as you can. And love. And kiss on a belly. And let him on a bed. And spoil. Then you will have a happy, healthy, devoted to you and loving friend.
